Industry

Difficult geometry, difficult material, documented result

Aerospace parts combine awkward features with materials that punish marginal tooling, and then ask for the paperwork to prove the result. All three are engineering problems worth solving properly.

  • Extended-reach custom holders
  • Distributed support for thin sections
  • Approvals stated only where verified

Best for

Sub-tier machining with hard materials and awkward access

You send

The feature, the material and the access constraint

You get back

Tooling or fixtures designed for the specific difficulty

How it starts

Feasibility assessed before commitment

The situation

Where aerospace work gets expensive

The cost is concentrated in a small number of features that are hard to reach, hard to hold, or hard to cut without deflection.

  • 01Deep pockets and features that demand reach without chatter
  • 02Titanium, stainless and nickel alloys that expose any tooling weakness
  • 03Thin walls that distort under conventional clamping
  • 04Full documentation required on critical dimensions
  • 05Small batches carrying a high setup cost per part

What you get

What working with CMTA actually delivers

Tooling, fixtures and components for difficult geometries with documented inspection.

  • Reach without losing rigidity

Extended-reach and reduced-neck holders designed for the specific feature, with trade-offs stated rather than glossed over.

  • Support where the part is weak

Machining fixtures with distributed support so thin sections are held through the cut without distortion.

  • Documented critical dimensions

The features your customer cares about are inspected and reported in the format agreed at order stage.

  • An honest position on approvals

Aerospace accreditations are published only where current and verified — so you can plan your own compliance around a straight answer.

Applications

  • Extended-reach and reduced-neck custom tool holders
  • Machining fixtures with distributed support for thin sections
  • Ground shafts, bushes and mandrels for tooling and test equipment
  • Inspection fixtures for repeatable gauging
02

Quality, documentation and approvals

Critical dimensions are inspected and reported, and material certificates are passed through. Where your quality system needs specific formats or witnessed inspection, that is agreed at order stage.

Aerospace approvals and customer-specific accreditations are stated only where verified. If your programme requires a particular approval, ask us directly and you will get a straight answer rather than a hopeful one.

Challenges we are asked about most

  • Deep pockets, thin walls and hard-to-reach features
  • Titanium, stainless and nickel alloys demanding rigid tooling
  • Fixtures that must hold thin parts without distortion
  • Full documentation of critical dimensions
  • Small batches with high setup cost

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions engineers and buyers ask before sending a drawing. If yours is not here, ask it directly — you will get an engineer's answer, not a brochure.

Still have a question?

Talk to Anita M.N, Managing Partner, or send the drawing and let the review answer it.

Does CMTA hold aerospace quality approvals?

CMTA publishes only certifications that are current and evidenced. See the Quality page for the present position, and discuss your specific approval requirements with us before ordering.

Can CMTA handle development quantities?

Yes. Single pieces and small batches are routine, and the approved drawing and process route are retained so a later production release is manufactured the same way.

What documentation is available with supplied parts?

Inspection reports for agreed critical dimensions, material certificates passed through from the supplier where requested at order stage, and process route information where your quality system requires it. Documentation scope is agreed before manufacture, not negotiated after delivery.

How is confidentiality handled?

Drawings and samples are used only to prepare and execute your order, and are stored in private storage accessible to CMTA engineering. An NDA can be signed before detailed drawings are shared, and customer names, drawings and results are never published without written permission.
