Industry

Seconds per part, across every shift

On a line running the same operation thousands of times a day, a second saved is real money and a drifting fixture is a real problem. CMTA works on the tooling and workholding that decide both.

  • Line-trialled before repeat release
  • Localisation of imported holders
  • Duplicates for parallel machines

Best for

High-volume lines where cycle time and consistency drive cost

You send

The operation, current tooling and your baseline times

You get back

Tooling or fixtures trialled on the line, then duplicated

The situation

What actually costs you money on the line

Automotive machining problems are rarely dramatic. They are small, repeated thousands of times a day, in an environment where quality has to hold from the first part of a shift to the last.

  • 01Cycle-time pressure on an operation nobody has re-tooled in years
  • 02Changeovers between variants eating productive hours
  • 03Imported tooling cost and lead time driving up crib stock
  • 04Fixture wear letting quality drift across a long run
  • 05A machine idle while an imported spare is in transit

What you get

What working with CMTA actually delivers

Tooling, fixtures and components for high-volume, cycle-time-driven machining.

  • Tooling proven on your line

One holder or fixture is trialled in production before any duplicate set is released, so the rollout is based on your result.

  • Localised replacements

Imported holders and adaptors reproduced here, with fit confirmed on your machine before repeat supply.

  • Fixtures that hold through the run

Wearing elements designed as replaceable inserts, so quality does not drift and the fixture can be maintained.

  • Documented critical dimensions

Inspection reports on agreed features accompany delivery where your process requires them.

Applications

  • Custom tool holders for transmission and engine component operations
  • Machining and inspection fixtures for gear, shaft and housing lines
  • Precision sleeves, bushes and mandrels for machine and fixture maintenance
  • Localised replacements for imported holders and adaptors
  • Combined-operation tools that remove an index or a tool change

How the capabilities map to the problem

Custom tool holders and productivity work address cycle time and changeover. Jigs and fixtures address repeatability and loading. Precision components and reverse engineering keep machines running when OEM spares are slow or gone. Most automotive projects here start as one of those and end up touching two.

Quality and documentation

Critical dimensions are agreed from the drawing and inspected before dispatch, with reports and material certificates supplied where requested. CMTA does not claim automotive quality-system certifications that have not been verified — the Quality page carries the current, evidenced position.

Challenges we are asked about most

  • Cycle-time pressure on every operation
  • Frequent changeovers between variants
  • Imported tooling cost and lead time
  • Fixture wear and drifting quality on long runs
  • Machine downtime waiting for spares

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions engineers and buyers ask before sending a drawing. If yours is not here, ask it directly — you will get an engineer's answer, not a brochure.

Still have a question?

Talk to Anita M.N, Managing Partner, or send the drawing and let the review answer it.

Does CMTA supply automotive component manufacturers?

Yes. Custom tool holders, fixtures, precision components and productivity tooling are supplied to automotive and auto-component machining lines, including a documented custom holder project for a transmission manufacturer.

Can CMTA handle development quantities?

Yes. Single pieces and small batches are routine, and the approved drawing and process route are retained so a later production release is manufactured the same way.

What documentation is available with supplied parts?

Inspection reports for agreed critical dimensions, material certificates passed through from the supplier where requested at order stage, and process route information where your quality system requires it. Documentation scope is agreed before manufacture, not negotiated after delivery.

How is confidentiality handled?

Drawings and samples are used only to prepare and execute your order, and are stored in private storage accessible to CMTA engineering. An NDA can be signed before detailed drawings are shared, and customer names, drawings and results are never published without written permission.
